Indonesian production company VMS Studio is positioning itself as one of the country’s most promising film studios heading into 2026, following a strong presence at JAFF Market 2025. Showcasing a bold slate of films across multiple genres, VMS Studio reaffirmed its commitment to innovative storytelling and international collaboration.

One of the main highlights at JAFF Market 2025 was VMS Studio’s aircraft cockpit–themed booth, inspired by its upcoming film The Last Flight. The immersive installation drew significant attention from industry professionals and the public alike, with numerous high-profile figures and leading Indonesian actors visiting the booth.
A Diverse 2026 Film Lineup
VMS Studio officially announced several projects scheduled for release and production in 2026:

The Last Flight, a high-profile drama centered on a major aviation scandal, set for theatrical release on January 15, 2026, starring Jerome Kurnia, Nadya Arina, and Aghniny Haque.

Hope, an Indonesian adaptation of a South Korean film, bringing an emotional narrative to local audiences.

My Husband’s Family Is a Pest, adapted from a popular short film on the Noice platform and directed by Anggy Umbara.

Jurit Malam, a horror film directed by acclaimed young filmmaker Kevin Rahardjo, marking VMS Studio’s continued support for emerging talent.
The studio collaborates with established directors such as Benni Setiawan, while simultaneously opening space for a new generation of filmmakers.
Co-Producing One of Indonesia’s Most Anticipated Films
In addition to its in-house productions, VMS Studio’s producer Tony Ramesh is serving as co-producer on Laut Bercerita, the long-awaited film adaptation of Leila S. Chudori’s bestselling novel. Both The Last Flight and Laut Bercerita were selected as Hot Picks by Variety, signaling strong international interest.
A Clear Vision for the Future
“Our goal at VMS Studio is to present stories that inspire and resonate with audiences,” said producer Tony Ramesh. “Through the diverse projects we introduced at JAFF Market 2025, we aim to strengthen our commitment to the Indonesian film industry while expanding the range of stories on screen.”
Founded in 2022, VMS Studio gained early recognition with its debut feature The Corpse Washer, which achieved 3.5 million viewers worldwide and became one of the highest-grossing Indonesian films in Malaysia.
