Filming in Jakarta
For the first time, Jakarta is officially present at the Cannes Film Festival through its participation in Marché du Film, the world’s largest film market, which took place from May 13 to 21, 2025.
This participation marks an important step for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in strengthening the Indonesian film industry’s presence on the global stage, while also demonstrating its commitment to supporting Jakarta as a world-class film city.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, led the official delegation of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government at the event in Cannes.
He stated, "This is not just an artistic achievement, but a reflection that the works of our nation's children are now recognized globally. Our support is a commitment to make Jakarta a fertile ground for the birth of world-class works."

As part of the event, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government co-organized the strategic forum “International Co-production and Distribution Opportunity in Indonesia” with Jakarta Film Week and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
The forum, which took place on May 17, 2025, featured speakers from the global film industry, including Linda Gozali (Secretary General of APROFI), Angga Dwimas Sasongko (CEO of Visinema Group), Denis Vaslin (Volya Films), and Tamara Tatishvili (Hubert Bals Fund).

The forum provided an important platform for discussing opportunities for international co-production and promoting Indonesia as a promising film production destination.
