The production will be performed from January 30 to February 15, 2026, at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, with a total of 21 performances.

Reviving Dreams Through Music and Theatre
Musikal Perahu Kertas brings audiences back to the emotional journey of Kugy and Keenan.
Two young souls bound by art, dreams, and personal struggles. Kugy escapes harsh realities by creating stories and fairy tales, while Keenan, a gifted young painter, lives under his father’s expectations and searches for the freedom to express himself.
When they meet, it feels as though the universe pauses
allowing both characters to confront choices, love, and dreams that are not always easy to express.
At its core, the story reflects the belief that one day, stories, art, and hearts will find their way back to each other.
Carrying the theme “Reviving Dreams”, the musical delivers a warm and emotionally resonant experience by blending music, literature, and theater into one cohesive stage journey.
Cast, Creative Team, and Musical Highlights
The lead roles are portrayed by Alya Syahrani as Kugy and Dewara Zaqqi as Keenan, supported by a cast of 38 performers and a creative team of 20 artists.
The musical features 21 original songs, including two previously released tracks, “Miliaran Manusia” and “Agency,” both available on digital streaming platforms with lyric videos on YouTube.
The production also applies an alternate cast system on selected performance dates—February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2026—to maintain stamina and performance quality throughout the show’s run.
Artistic Vision and Stage Concept
From an artistic standpoint, Musikal Perahu Kertas presents a rotating stage concept combined with layered visuals and dynamic transitions. The production incorporates creative elements such as visual projections, textured set designs, and puppetry to deepen the storytelling experience and keep audiences fully engaged from beginning to end.
According to the producers, the adaptation process involved extensive creative exploration and structured rehearsals to ensure a seamless translation of the beloved novel into a musical stage format.
A Milestone for Indonesian Musical Theatre
With an expected audience of over 23,000 viewers, Musikal Perahu Kertas is positioned as an important milestone in the growth of Indonesia’s musical theater industry.
