WeTV Indonesia and Magma Entertainment Launch New Teen Drama Asmara Asrama
JAKARTA, May 19, 2026 — What would you do if your loved one’s future depended on one huge lie?
That emotional question becomes the heart of Asmara Asrama, the latest teen drama officially entering production following a traditional thanksgiving ceremony and tumpeng celebration held at Felfest, Universitas Indonesia.
The series is a collaboration between WeTV Indonesia and Magma Entertainment, bringing a fresh coming-of-age story filled with hidden identities, emotional conflicts, romance, and the competitive world of athletics.
What Is Asmara Asrama About?
The story follows Mara, played by Diandra Agatha, a young woman who risks everything to protect her twin sibling’s dreams.
In order to enter an elite boys’ athletic dormitory, Mara cuts her hair short and disguises herself as a male student. Her double life quickly becomes more complicated as she struggles to survive the intense physical training of the sports academy while simultaneously working at a luxury hotel owned by a wealthy conglomerate family.
Amid the growing web of lies, Mara finds herself trapped in an emotional love triangle involving two popular young men:
- Leon, played by Antonio Blanco Jr.
- and Radit, played by Farhan Rasyid.
WeTV Promises a Fresh Teen Drama Experience
According to Febriamy Hutapea, Executive Producer and Country Head of WeTV Indonesia, Asmara Asrama combines hidden identity elements, romance, and sports drama in a way rarely explored in today’s Indonesian streaming series.
“This series offers many funny and heartwarming moments. Additionally, having female directors involved gives the project a stronger female gaze perspective. We hope this unique combination of elements can make Asmara Asrama a new audience favorite,” said Febriamy.
Charles Gozali and Creative Team Lead the Ambitious Project
The series is backed by a strong creative team led by Charles Gozali as producer and directing supervisor, alongside directing duo Adis Kayl and Imron Ayikayu.
Charles Gozali explained that this collaboration marks the first joint project between WeTV Indonesia and Magma Entertainment.
“At Magma Entertainment, we are mostly known for horror projects. So working on a teen drama together with WeTV Indonesia is a very exciting opportunity, and we hope the results will resonate with audiences,” he shared.
Director Adis Kayl added that Mara’s story reflects the pressures faced by today’s youth.
“Mara deals with pressure from both family expectations and personal achievement. What makes Asmara Asrama different is how we combine family drama with the world of competitive sports,” explained Adis.
Rising Young Stars Bring Emotional Chemistry to the Screen
The series features a lineup of talented young actors including:
- Diandra Agatha
- Antonio Blanco Jr.
- Farhan Rasyid
