Kamu Harus Mati Brings Psychological Terror, Trauma, and Mystery to Indonesian Cinemas
Jakarta, May 18, 2026 — Indonesian production house Nant Entertainment officially unveiled its latest psychological horror film, Kamu Harus Mati, a chilling mystery thriller that explores trauma, grief, and the fragile line between reality and hallucination.
Directed by Tema Patrosza and produced by Muhammad Hananto alongside Ninin Musa, the film promises an intense horror experience filled with emotional tension and unsettling mysteries.
Set to premiere nationwide on May 21, 2026, Kamu Harus Mati is already gaining attention among Indonesian horror fans for its psychological approach rather than relying solely on conventional jump scares.
What Is Kamu Harus Mati About?
The story follows Meta, a young woman haunted by the traumatic loss of her boyfriend, Sam, who died in a tragic incident years earlier.
Since his death, Meta has been plagued by disturbing hallucinations and terrifying visions of a mysterious spirit she believes is connected to the people around her.
However, her closest friends, Dona and Kesi, dismiss her fears as signs of mental instability. Their disbelief slowly destroys their friendship, leaving Meta isolated while the terrifying presence continues to haunt her.
As strange and dangerous incidents begin targeting Dona and Kesi, Meta realizes the horror she has experienced may not be imagined after all.
With her mental state deteriorating, she must uncover the truth behind the mysterious terror before it destroys everyone around her.
A Psychological Horror Film About Trauma and Guilt
Director Tema Patrosza explained that Kamu Harus Mati focuses not only on supernatural horror, but also on emotional pain and psychological conflict.
“This film is not just about ghosts or jump scares. It is about loss and how someone struggles against their own mind. Audiences will constantly question what is real and what only exists inside Meta’s head,” said Tema Patrosza.
Producer Muhammad Hananto added that the film aims to present horror rooted in human emotions and everyday fears.
“The greatest fear often does not come from invisible beings, but from trauma and guilt that continue haunting someone. That is what we want to explore through this film,” he stated.
Cast of Kamu Harus Mati
The film stars several rising Indonesian actors and actresses, including:
- Sahila Hisyam
- Pamela Bowie
- Sitha Marino
- Leo Consul
- Leon Alexander
The ensemble cast is expected to deliver both emotional depth and intense psychological tension throughout the film.
Instead of relying entirely on loud scares, the film emphasizes:
- trauma and grief,
- fractured friendships,
- paranoia,
- hallucinations,
- and the fear of not being believed.
This approach places the movie closer to modern psychological horror trends popularized by films such as Hereditary and The Babadook, while still maintaining a distinctly Indonesian atmosphere.

With its haunting atmosphere, emotional conflicts, and mystery-driven narrative, the film is expected to become one of the most memorable Indonesian horror releases of the year.
