Cek Khodam
One of Indonesia’s biggest viral internet trends is making its way to the big screen. Cek Khodam (Check Your Khodam), inspired by the wildly popular social media phenomenon that took over TikTok and other platforms, is being adapted into a new horror-comedy from Dee Company, set to premiere in cinemas nationwide on July 16, 2026.
Rather than following the traditional horror formula, Cek Khodam flips the genre on its head.
This time, it’s not humans who fear ghosts—it’s the supernatural beings who are terrified because people have stopped fearing them altogether.
As modern life becomes increasingly dominated by financial stress, bills, debt, and everyday struggles, humanity’s fear of the supernatural continues to fade. That unexpected shift throws the mystical Khodam world into crisis, threatening its very existence.

A Horror Comedy Where Ghosts Fight to Survive
The film follows the chaos that unfolds as humanity’s “fear level” drops to an all-time low. Faced with possible extinction, the inhabitants of the Khodam realm launch an unexpected mission to restore their relevance.
Caught in the middle of this supernatural crisis are three best friends who accidentally become involved in a conflict that could determine the fate of both the human world and the spirit realm.
Packed with comedy, fantasy, and supernatural adventure, Cek Khodam delivers a fresh take on Indonesian horror while offering a humorous reflection on modern life.
Jirayut Makes His Feature Film Debut
The film also marks the highly anticipated feature film debut of Jirayut, one of Indonesia’s most recognizable TV personalities and singers.
Known for his infectious humor and strong connection with audiences, Jirayut steps into a brand-new role, bringing his comedic energy to the big screen in what is expected to be one of this year’s most talked-about horror comedies.
Iconic Indonesian Ghosts Return—But They’re the Ones in Trouble
Instead of haunting humans, Cek Khodam introduces a colorful lineup of supernatural characters desperately trying to save their own world.
Audiences will encounter unforgettable figures including the Dutch Lady Ghost (Noni Belanda), Genderuwo, Pocong Karuhun, and a variety of Khodam spirits—each with distinct personalities that bring both laughs and supernatural chaos.
Inspired by a Viral Cultural Phenomenon
Producer Dheeraj Kalwani said the project was born from observing one of Indonesia’s most talked-about online trends.
“Cek Khodam was inspired by a phenomenon that became part of everyday conversations. We saw an opportunity to transform this viral trend into a fresh, entertaining horror comedy that feels relevant to today’s audiences,” Kalwani said.
He also expressed his excitement about introducing Jirayut as a feature film actor.
“We’re thrilled to present Jirayut in his first feature film. His charisma, comedic timing, and strong connection with audiences make him one of the film’s biggest attractions.”
More Than Just Laughs
Beyond its comedy, Cek Khodam cleverly satirizes modern society by suggesting that today’s biggest fears no longer come from ghosts, but from everyday realities like financial pressure, rising living costs, and adult responsibilities.
Blending viral internet culture, supernatural folklore, and contemporary humor, Cek Khodam aims to deliver one of Indonesia’s most original horror-comedy experiences of 2026.
