Jakarta, August 8, 2025— After the success of the horror film “Pemandi Jenazah” which became a blockbuster, VMS Studio is back with a new horror film titled “Maryam: Janji & Jiwa Yang Terikat”. A film adapted from the viral podcast “Lentera Malam” titled “Belenggu Jin Kafir”.
Produced by Tony Ramesh and executive produced by Shalu T.M., the horror film “Maryam: Janji & Jiwa Yang Terikat” is directed by Azhar Kinoi Lubis, and stars Claresta Taufan, Wafda Saifan, Debo Andryos, Maryam Supraba, and Rukman Rosadi.
Through the official teaser trailer released, the horror film “Maryam” shows a story about jinn in Indonesian culture, combined with personal psychological trauma.
The film presents horror that’s not only visually frightening but also emotionally stirring.

The film “Maryam” will bring a terrifying audio horror experience to the big screen, with a more real, closer, and unforgettable atmosphere and tension. “Maryam” will present horror from the unseen relationship between humans and supernatural beings that have crossed the line. Wrong love can become a terrifying constraint.
“When preparing, I was really focused and asked for protection, because this is no joke. Because there’s pressure about a human loved by a jinn. This will be something fresh! And really pushes me to explore a role I’ve never encountered before,” added Claresta Taufan.
